Matthew Campbell is our Senior Accountant in the Charleston Office at Greene Finney, LLP.
We sat down with Matthew to get to know him a little better and asked him hard-hitting questions like, "What are the top three highlights of your life?" Here's what he had to say.
What do you like best about working for Greene Finney?
This job has many perks, but I must say that the most important perk that comes with working for Greene Finney is the community. I couldn’t ask for a better group to work with.
If you could do another job just for one day, what would it be?
When I was a kid, I always thought it would be fun to fill in for Bob Barker on the Price is Right.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
There are a lot of things I love very much but nothing as much as my family. They are the main reason I am the way I am today.
What would you tell your 13 year-old self?
I would tell myself a set of winning powerball numbers and, then as a side note, I’d tell myself to get a haircut.
What are the top three highlights of your life?
In December 2016, I made a very rushed decision and rescued a plott hound named Sufjie (Soo-fee). She has more energy than any dog I have ever met, and she constantly keeps me on my toes. I never know what she is going to get into next.
I spent a week in the Dominican Republic on a mission trip with my church a couple years ago, and that experience is one that has shaped me for the better.
On New Year’s Eve in 2011, I sat courtside next to the home team bench at an Oklahoma City Thunder game in Oklahoma. I was wearing my “Fear the Beard” t-shirt and James Harden saw it and laughed at me when he was being subbed into the game.
What would people be surprised to know?
I own a banjo and a couple other instruments. I’m still learning how to use them, but I’m trying!
What is the best book you have ever read?
I think my favorite book that I have read is, “The Catcher in the Rye.”
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I think it would be enjoyable to open up a craft beer brewery with a couple friends of mine and see where that takes us.
