Tax Planning Letter
In this issue:

New Year 2014
This is the time of year for assessing how one is doing — and the time to resolve to focus more effectively on one's goals and the steps necessary to accomplish them. An important part of our service to you is providing any assistance you need, both in reviewing your tax, business, and financial affairs and in identifying those strategies that will achieve your objectives.
The current tax environment is not a promising one, with Congress once again more likely to "kick the can" of tax reform down the road rather than working now to fix what many see as a broken tax code. We have not had major tax reform since 1986, and though there may be some work going on behind the scenes, Congress will probably again settle for short-term fixes for this and other important issues facing the country.
This New Year Tax Planning Letter is intended to stimulate your thinking about what you can do to minimize your taxes and keep more of your hard-earned money. We're here to help you work through the tax issues you face this year as the health care reform law continues to roll out and Congress continues to govern by crisis. Let this Letter serve as the starting point for your 2014 planning, and contact us early in the year to discuss tax-cutting opportunities that fit your individual and business situation.
