Mike Downing joined the Greene Finney, LLP team in 2004. As a Senior Manager, Mike provides leadership and management for audit engagements, specializing in governmental and not-for-profit entities. He also brings expertise and experience in implementing new accounting and auditing standards, and assists in leading the firm’s continuing education for its staff and clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike served 14 years with Ernst & Young, where he gained experience working with commercial and multi-family real estate, construction, and HUD compliance. He also served eight years with Sloan Construction Company as Assistant Controller, then Controller. Mike has earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bob Jones University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), as well as the South Carolina Association of CPAs. He supports Greer Community Ministries and is a Deacon at Living Hope Presbyterian Church. In his free time, Mike enjoys hiking, canoeing, and farming.
